Missionary Prep

Recently I took a trip back home to see the AMAZING Gilbert, AZ Temple. They were holding an open house where everyone can walk through and see what the inside of a temple looks like. OH! And they are open all the way until February 15, 2014 ( it's a Saturday). GO AND SEE WHERE I'M GOING TO GET MARRIED (eventually). I don't care if my future husband is the heir to some foreign throne ... this is where I'm going to be sealed for all time and eternity.
GILBERT TEMPLE

Oh and SURPRISE! I'm going on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Well.. not yet. I still have to finish some paper work.
When you start the online- recommendation process to serve as a missionary, you are required to fill out some information. Like a health history so they know you are capable of the physical demands of a mission. Or like financial inquiries to see how your mission will be paid for. And other questions about other stuff that's important.

But while I was home,  my family and I decided it was a perfect time to get all of my doctor and dentist appointments taken care of.
So as soon as I got off the plane on Friday morning, my dad and I headed off to the dentist. I landed around 8:30sih and we got to the dentist around 9 sumthin.

Funny thing is, I didn't have ANY anxiety. For those of you who don't know, I have a legitimate fear of Doctors and Dentists.
And it wasn't my regular dentist. This was my dad's old Missionary companion from when he served his mission in Los Angeles a billion years ago! And his office just so happened to be right across from the surgeon who took out my wisdom teeth. That place was full of  bad memories and yet I was calm.

So I get X-rayed and examined  and guess what?! NO CAVITIES!! I typically have very cavity-prone teeth even with my daily brushing and flossing and treatments and such. So this was a miracle in itself. He does this all free of charge. ( as long as I go Spanish speaking of course ;) )
And my doctor's appointment- free.
I don't say these things to boast or to seem all-knowing. But I do know this: God looks after those who have a desire to KNOW Him. And when I say know I mean really get to know Him.

It is no coincidence that the last time I stood foot in that office, another miracle happened right before my eyes. .. but that's another blog entry for later.

Now that I went home and finished most of my papers, saw the temple, and hung out with my family, life seems almost perfect.

The only problem is that I wasn't home long enough to do the TB skin test so I have to get that done here...
and I JUST found out that this skin test requires a NEEDLE!!!

Oh goodness.. please pray for me. Hopefully I won't run away. I have NEVER had a needle injected into me without a parent holding me down so as to prevent me from running. I'm dead serious. So please pray for me.

Hey, miracles happen every day! You jut got to keep your eyes open! Now I just have to get myself to call the Health Office and make an appointment. I have never ever gone to the dentist or doctor willingly or even knowingly for that matter. ahh well my love for the Lord surpasses any pain I could ever encounter.  Wish me luck!

Peace and Blessins' ,
Gigi

In case you don't know how to count to 5.
